AHMAD
YANI
Ahmad Yani is one of the famous
national heroine of Indonesia. He was
the commander of the Indonesian Army. He was born in Jenar, Purworejo, Central
Java on 19 June 1922 and was killed by members of the 30 September Movement during
an attempt to kidnap him from his house. Like the other kidnapping victims, the
body of Ahmad Yani was put into an old well located in Lubang Buaya, East
Jakarta. Five days later the body was
buried again in Kalibata Hero Cemetery, Jakarta, with a military grand
celebration, October 5, 1965.
He is a General who is very close to President
Soekarno, this is one of the right hand and confidence of the Proclaimer. He is
very much in love and loyal to Bung Karno. Because of his love and loyalty, he
even once said, "Whoever dares to step on the shadow of Bung Karno, must
first step over my body."
He died for defending the sanctity of the Basic and
Philosophy of the State, Pancasila, which attempted to divert the communists.
